Material Handler, Deli RTE – Day Shift
The Material Handler is responsible for constantly supplying the line with product and monitoring cooler inventory.
i) Manually transports racks of cooked and prepared meats from coolers to production lines as directed. Reads labels to determine selection.
ii) Assist to empty cooked product from the Smokehouse.
iii) Complete daily inventory of cooler.
iv) Perform regular daily routines with supervision from Lead Hand.
v) Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance or other purposes.
vi) Ensure materials required to complete the day’s schedule are ready, work with Cooler Technician to ensure they are onsite or in process.
vii) Assist with general labour on production lines.
Education, Training or Work Experience:
i) Walkie license may be required.
ii) Some experience in a food processing or other manufacturing environment.
-Work in cool environment
-Follow verbal direction
-Able to work with poultry, pork or beef
-Basic reading and math
-Lift 25 kg repeatedly
-Ability to be on feet for 8 to12 hours
-Must have own transportation
-Push and pull racks weighing up to 800 kg
Pay Rate: $15.32 Hourly
Hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
