Machine Operator – Linker – Days
The Linker Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery used to encase wiener/ sausage products on a continuously operating line.
i) Operate, complete set-up of, and complete minor adjustments to Linking and Smokehouse equipment. Monitor to ensure that product specs are met and food safety is adhered to. Work with Maintenance to communicate and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
ii) Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance or other purposes.
iii) Maintain a clean work area including managing edible/inedible buckets.
iv) Ensure materials required to complete the days schedule are onsite.
v) Perform regular daily routines without direct supervision. Advises HD Raw Lead Hand of any production or quality issues as they arise.
vi) Act as a mentor/advisor to Production Workers and liaise between Production Supervisors and Production Workers when needed.
Education, Training or Work Experience: Some experience operating machinery in food processing or other manufacturing environment
- Proven mechanical aptitude
- Function under pressure
- Lift 25 kg periodically
- Work on feet for 8 to12 hours
- Must have reliable transportation
- Above average hand to eye coordination
- Punctual and reliable
- Follow verbal direction
- Attention to detail
- Work with poultry, pork or beef
- Cool environment
- Fast paced environment
Pay Rate: $15.54 Hourly
Hours: 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (start time may vary from 6-6:45 am), Monday to Friday
