The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is currently accepting resumes for the seasonal position of Lake Patrol at Wildwood Conservation Area in St. Marys, ON. This position will be up to 20 weeks in length (April 16 – September 2, 2018).

Reporting to the Conservation Areas Superintendent, the Lake Patrol position will assist with regular enforcement patrols on Wildwood Reservoir with an emphasis on public safety and enforcing applicable regulations.



To perform regular boat checks, providing information to reservoir users regarding the minimum safety requirement as listed in the Safe Boating Guide

To perform regular security patrols to assist with ensuring public satisfaction and safety

To work directly with provincial enforcement agencies to enforce applicable policies and regulations

Respond to complaints, assisting the general public and ensure that proper action is taken

Perform duties such as garbage collection, grass cutting and weekly sewage pumping if required.



Must possess a valid Security Guard Licence. In addition, a Vulnerable Sector Check is required

Must possess a valid Canadian Coast Guard Pleasure Craft Operators Card

Minimum of one year college education in a recognized park or enforcement related discipline plus some related experience

Versatile person with experience in enforcement and boat operation.

Must possess a valid Ontario Drivers licence (G2 or higher)

Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Valid CPR and First Aid Certificate

Ability and desire to assist with other staff in other work areas of the conservation area


$18.01  per hour

34 hours per week

Day access to all three UTRCA Conservation Areas
