Grinder, Deli Raw – Afternoons
The Material Handler is responsible for transporting various raw ingredients or finished products to where they are needed as well as loading machines and other production tasks in a raw room.
i) Utilize material handling equipment in a safe manner. Ensuring battery operated equipment is charging when not in use. Complete daily inspection and associated documentation of material handling equipment, reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance personnel.
ii) Transports loads to or from storage or production areas and places in designated areas. Wrap and label loads prior to moving them and clean up any spillage created during transport.
iii) Perform regular daily routines with supervision from Lead Hand. Advises Lead Hand of any raw product or dry goods availability issues.
iv) Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance or other purposes.
v) Ensure materials required to complete the days schedule are ready, work with Inventory Technician to ensure they are onsite.
Education, Training or Work Experience:
i) Walkie and/or forklift license may be required.
ii) Experience working in food processing or other manufacturing environment.
-Able to withstand cool environment
-Follow verbal direction
-Able to work with poultry, pork or beef
-Basic math skills
-Lift 30 kg repeatedly
-Push and pull racks weighing up to 800 kg
-Must have own transportation
-Ability to be on feet for 8 to12 hours
Pay Rate: $15.32 Hourly
Hours: 4:00 pm – 12:30 am, Monday to Friday
