Deli RTE, Machine Operator – Days
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery used in Deli RTE.
i) Operate equipment used to slice ready to eat product. Maintain line speeds to ensure continuous operation.
ii) Complete associated documentation as established by Erie Meat Products for inventory tracking, HACCP plan compliance or other purposes.
iii) Understand the operation of, basic upkeep and complete minor adjustments to equipment. Work with Maintenance to communicate and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
iv) Ensure materials required to complete the day’s schedule are onsite, work with material handler to ensure they are available and ready when needed.
v) Perform regular daily routines without direct supervision. Advises Lead Hand of any production or quality issues as they arise.
vi) Act as a mentor/advisor to Production Workers and liaise between Production Supervisors and Production Workers when needed.
Education, Training or Work Experience: Some experience operating machinery in food processing or other manufacturing environment
-Ability to work on feet for 8 to 12 hrs/ day
-Able to work with poultry, pork or beef
-Some heavy lifting (up to 25 kgs)
-Good hand to eye coordination
-Able to work in a fast paced environment
Pay Rate: $15.54 Hourly
Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
