We are currently looking for a part time Community Chef (22.5 hours per week) to assume the duties of producing 3 community meals per week for 100 + individuals, using the fresh, healthy food that is procured through our storehouse.
Reporting to the Manager of Community Relations and Communication, the Community Chef will need to be committed to social justice, familiar with the issues of food insecurity, and able to work collaboratively with the staff team and volunteers of The Local. Highly organized, with excellent cooking and meal preparation skills, s/he will have experience successfully leading and teaching a team of volunteers. Experience managing multiple tasks and working within a chaotic environment will be a definite asset. Demonstrated problem solving skills are essential.
In addition to 3 or more years of proven success in the key skill areas, a relevant diploma is desired.
