Certified Industrial Machinist or Tool & Die Maker
SHIFT: 1 MONTH AFTS 3-11PM and 1 MONTH MIDS 11PM-7AM
Start Wage: $29.35 per hour wage increases as follows below:
After 480 hours - $29.85 per hour
After 960 hours – $30.35 per hour
After 1440 hours - $30.85 per hour
Effective December 1, 2018 the full rate for this job will increase to $31.31
Currently recruiting for Full Time opportunity in a progressive company in the industry of global commercial components manufacturer for the transportation industry. The company looking to add a FT Certified Machinist (Tool Room Point Person Front End and Back End) Lead to their team. If you have previous machinist or tool and die experience this is the ideal position for you.
The Machinist will participate and help with direction of all Tool Room activities. Involvement with Crib restocking of Tooling parts and material. Communicate through a 3 shift operation on any issues that may be present. Ensure completion dates and time of all major projects and samples. Work with Team Leader on cost reduction measures.
Please note this is a very hot environment due to the nature of the job and the machinery and applicants must be comfortable working in a high heat environment
-Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
-Communicate with Maintenance Point Personal to establish lead times on required Tooling and or machining.
-Work with Engineering regarding clarification / verification and updates on Tooling and machining drawings where required.
-Ensure utilization sheets per work center are filled out accurately and correctly.
-Assist Tool Room Personal on any Tooling or process issues.
-Update Team Leader on all Tooling and process issues.
-Report any and all maintenance issues regarding Tool Room equipment.
-Assist Team Leader on maintaining Employee communication.
-Troubleshoot tooling and reliability improvement of existing designs.
-Assist in scheduling manpower and work load.
-Interact purchasing to ensure adequate part and material inventory.
-Any and all other related duties described by Team Leader
-High school graduate, Certified Machinist or Licensed Tool and Die Maker.
-Working knowledge of all types of materials used in-house.
-Demonstrated aptitude re: Microsoft Office tools.
-Demonstrated ability to foster team relationships with and among all team members.
-Capable of working reliably and with minimal supervision.
-Have the ability to transfer skill and knowledge to others.
-Must be certified to work within all aspects of Certified Machinist Job Classification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, sketches, specifications and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
