Canada Ontario Job Grant – funding for training your new employees

This eight week training includes in-class and lab based instruction covering the theory, concepts and principles related to the supportive care role for home care and community based living.

Content includes the theoretical and practical foundations of community based supportive care, practice imperatives for personal care and workplace health and safety. Participants will also receive Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR/AED, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid and Gentle Persuasive Approaches Certifications.

Partnering with employers to prepare new employees to provide a range of community based support services, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation and housekeeping.

Successful participants may be eligible for advanced standing or bridging opportunities in Conestoga’s Health Care and Community Services programs should they choose to continue their education.
