Fanshawe College is excited to offer a Personal Support Worker program that will start in September. You will learn to provide personal care to clients in both community and institutional settings by developing the knowledge,skills, and attitude necessary to meet the needs of our ever-changing, dynamic health care environment. PSWs support clients of all ages with ongoingand stable mental, developmental, or physicalhealth challenges. These challenges may becongenital, or the result of aging, injury, or illness.PSWs are unregulated caregivers who workunder the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) orRegistered Practical Nurse (RPN), anotherregulated health care professional, a member ofthe client’s family, or the client themselves, inprivate homes, elsewhere in the community, or inlong-term care facilities.
